‘Sorrow’ is the latest release from Texas-based RG Lowe. He creates a cinematic texture on this latest release, combining delicate keyboards and shimmering guitar lines with some warm electronics and a sharp drum track. Obviously, it is his vocals that are the focus, with an impressive range and mixture of warmth and intentional thinning out are highlights of the tune. He explains: “This song was constructed almost entirely around the Wurlitzer line you hear repeated throughout the track. There is this thing that happens to me where I get a little formation in my hands for the piano or the Wurlitzer and every time I sit down my hands like magnets go right to it”. The track comes alongside the announcement of his new album, Life Of The Body, which follows on from an impressive career so far, which includes the release of his well-received 2017 debut solo album, and a ten-year stint with his band Balmorhea. - Dan Peeke
